How To Find What To Do In Florence Online

Now that events are starting again in Florence and across Italy in general, people are eager to connect- masks and all! With all of the changes of the past few months, it can be hard and even a bit confusing to know how to find good information on what to do in Florence online. Many events and activities are posted on Facebook events, but frankly, their new look and feel have us searching for more appealing ways to find information, plus this way we can avoid all of those annoying political posts!

Fortunately, we’ve rounded up our favorite event resources in both English and Italian to make it easy for you to fill up your social calendar and get back out there again while the weather is still nice and Italy is calm. Here are some great resources for things to do in Florence, ideal for both residents and travelers to enjoy the city and meet new people:

Resources in English:

Magenta Florence: Magenta Florence is an English news site that publishes events, tips and expat info aimed at expats living in Florence and around Tuscany. Check out their “free in Florence” section and “this week” guide for last-minute ideas on things to do in Florence!!

The Florentine: The Florentine is an excellent resource not only for events and activities in Florence but also for food and wine reviews, thoughtful articles on life in Florence and Tuscany and general news about the region. Subscribe to their weekly newsletter to get the latest event news delivered to your email.

Resources in Italian:

Gogo Firenze: Gogo Firenze is your one-stop-shop for all events happening in Florence and the surrounding areas, and I mean ALL the events. Cinema? Check. Art events? Check. Concerts and festivals? Check. Folklore? Yep, you read that right, folklore as its own category- check! You name it, this site lists it. Useful for sorting by category and by date, and you can also buy tickets to some of the events and museums.

Firenze Spettacolo: Firenze Spettacolo has a great round-up of restaurants, gourmet news and trends, theatres with movie reviews as well as art, music and dance events. There’s also wine news and info on regional day trips and events. Also available in English.

Firenze Today: Firenze Today is a news site that also has an extensive “cosa fare in citta” section with events, theatre, art, restaurants and more. Great for planning something to do for specific dates, you can filter by type of event, theme and date ranges.

We know that you may not be able to understand everything in Italian, but it is easy to grasp at least the general idea of what to do during your visit or stay in Florence and it helps a lot to have local resources that can help you with how to find the best events. In case, you want to get even more local insights, we suggest you reach out to a Prontopia assistant who can meet and update you about the best events, daytime and nighttime life, galleries, special events, best restaurants and more.
