1. The Lighting Of The Christmas Tree

There will be a great event for adults and kids on December 8th for the Immaculate. The lights on the big Christmas tree in Piazza del Duomo will be switched on with a beautiful and emotional ceremony. This is a wonderful occasion to see Christmas through the eyes of the amazed kids.

2. F-Light Festival – Florence Streets Christmas Lights

Every year during the Christmas Holiday, Florence streets glow with beautiful twinkling lights, videos, and luminous installations by Silfi. As for Piazza del Duomo Christmas Tree, the lights will be switched on from December 8th. Palaces, monuments, the Ponte Vecchio, the Rampe del Poggi and Florence’s towers will stay lit until January 6th.

3. Strings City

On December 14th and 15th, the yearly appointment with music called Strings City returns. The festival, spread around the city, will bring Florence’s most famous places come alive with the sound of string instruments. Read more (Italian only).

4. Fierucola dell’Immacolata

Another much-anticipated event the Fierucola. This is the artisans’ market that starts on December 8th in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata.

5. Empoli – The City of Christmas

Empoli is just a few minutes away from Florence and for the second consecutive year, it confirms itself as the city of Christmas. Many attractions are set for the event, from snow to Santa Claus’ village.
