The holidays are an enchanting time on the lagoon of Venice. We have selected some fun local options for how to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Venice as the locals do, enjoying the fireworks, a feast, and some fun! Venetians celebrate the “Capodanno” with a big feast, the Feast of San Silvestro, with special dishes such as lentils featured for good luck in the new year.
The evening ends with a spectacular fireworks show in San Marco, followed by more celebrating with music, dancing, and a kiss or two. Below are some of our favorite 2018 New Year’s Events in Venice.
Don’t miss the incredible fireworks show of Venice!
The best places to view the fireworks are from Riva degli Schiavoni, at Piazza San Marco, from the terrace of the Hilton Molino Stucky on Giudecca Island or from the terrace of the Hotel Danieli.
